FiL has a collection of vinyl that he wants to sell. Almost all classical, I believe, and some have apparently been identified as rare & collectable. Condition tbc. Does anyone know the best sort of place to go to sell something like this? Based SE England or East Anglia.

Thanks.

Cappo, as you're just along the coast Id suggest you have a trip to Brighton. There's several places in the North Laines (not that Ive ever been in them). IIRC there is one on Trafalgar Street and also one opposite the station (Terminus Road?). Maybe Google would shed some light?

Ive got about 50 albums from the 60s belonging to my folks who told me to throw them away, but I cant believe Im not able to sell them.

Maybe I should take my own advice smile

if you just want rid of them, any 2nd hand vinyl sho pwill take them off your hands. they will pay peanuts.

ebay is more work but will bring more reward. with things like vinyl [esp. classical] you avoid the usual paypal chancers.

Secondhand shops are a good bet, but you'll get the less than market rate for them. Ebay or specialist collectors will get a better rate.

There's a 'sell you vinyl here' shop on Essex Road, Islington. Another on Green Lanes in Palmers Green, North London. Sorry, don't know the names.

Ebay takes ages to load individual ad.s onto and they're only there for short duration. Could be ok for big discounted bulk sales though.

All mine are listed (SOMEONE BUY THEM LoL!) individually on Discogs for better £ (but much slower...) return. It's a geek site dedicated to detailing every music release ever made, with a sales option against every item, if available.....amazing!

Have also had Gemm recommended to me but is awkward to list items and payment procedure is more complicated...had no sales there since posting about 4mths ago...

Sorry, been away from this thread.

Yes, they're all classical, lots of them are in plastic slip covers, and I could get a list if there's any interest - let me know or PM me, thanks.
