Revisited a part of my youth recently, by listening to a couple of MM tracks.

Some great music IMO and in particular, very 'before it's time'.

Double Dutch

Madame Butterfly

Buffalo Gals

Waltz Darling - Brilliant Lyrics Lyrics

I reckon that if you've never really thought much about his music, you may just enjoy a few of his tracks now, more so than when they were released?

Brilliant.

I loved Buffalo Gals as a kid, but listening to it now, it sounds like a satire of hip hop. Was it intended to be a joke song?

I don't think so. I think it was more a case of M.M's eccentric manor rubbing off on the record.

I'm glad I'm old enough to have been around when all this stuff was about. Loved the Electro series too, well Electros 1 to 10 anyway! Felt they went a bit downhill after that.

Great times though, cheers for bringing back a little bit of magic!

If you like Madam Butterfly try to have a listen to his album Fans. IMO 'tis Mclarens best work. If possible listen to it on vinyl as the CD is over-bright and brittle sounding (well the CD I imported from the States is).

Yes, very sad. There's a thread running in the Lounge (at least I think it's the Lounge).
Will be sadly missed. RIP Malcolm. frown

I was referring to my above post, where I said that I thought the thread was in the lounge, thus the 'wrong again'.
