Indeed. I ran it up again a few months ago.
Recorded in the Eno collaboration days in a studio at a place called Hansa in West Berlin. It was before the wall came down, and I have to say, walking from the studio to the wall was probably one of the most depressing walks I have ever done. At that time, it was the last pocket of light moving away from the decadent town area.
As you waled away, the building started to get a few broken windows, then no windows or doors and broken walls, then people were sleeping in motorhomes and caravans, then simply laying in the gutter. Then you would hit a sign saying "You are now leaving the American sector", and 20 paces later you would be standing in front of the wall.
If you went up the steps to one of the viewing galleries, the view back into West Germany had a dark area, and then the bright city lights. In no mans land, there were bright lights, and rabbits playing. Over the other side was just darkness.
No wonder it's such a moody album. Went down a bit better on tour though - starting a gig with Warzawa was a bit of a risk
