Dream Theater this Saturday

Really enjoyed the gig. It is a shame that the set is a lot shorter now though due to all the support bands.
It was always good hearing the new album in full and then a selection of old tracks but there you go. At ours, they played The Mirror and Lie which I was more than pleased with!

I really liked Big Elf, having known nothing about them before hand.
Opeth played really well, but the setlist to me was more to cater towards a Dream Theater audience. Slightly dissapointing as Im more into Opeth than DT and was hoping for a heavier set (and a more enthusiastic crowd).

Saw them a couple of times a few years back. 6 Degrees tour, at the Astoria (02/03?). I seem to remember a huge set list - 1st half was a cover of Iron Maiden's Number of the Beast, 2nd half the whole of 6 Degrees, with the usual Pull Me Under etc encores.
Certainly got our money's worth that night!

Nicecuppa, on the T shirt I was wearing yesterday, it was the 26th of January 2002.
I was there too, standing on the right side with 7 foot giants blocking my view most of the time!
I had just started listening to the band, I think from Mike Portnoy's being involved with Neal Morse. I see that a new Transatantic c.d. is due out soon as well!
I have much older T shirts as well, so scruffy that I only wear them for decorating now!
