Picking up some stuff from my mums flat and found a bass guitar I bought years ago (squier p-bass if that means anything to anyone?)

Never really learnt to play it, any online resources that are good for getting started? Is it hard to get good at?

To get the basics of the bass isn't that hard, main difficulty will be aching hands and fingertips for a while. Use a tab site (there are plenty) and learn to play a few things with tab, keeps things interesting in the beginning , and then you can have a go at theory.

Cool, looking at some 311 tab at the moment, don't think I'll get any replies in this section now!

what sort of music do you like?

I would just buy a copy of Double Nickels on the Dime by the Minutemen and then get the tab --

Get some lessons so you don't start with too many bad habits, and it should help speed up the technical side of playing the bassic guitar, and take it from there.
