Alternative to Itunes (Anapod)

Having gotten completely sick of the cr*p that is ITunes, i installed Anapod after it getting rave reviews. Only problem is, all the songs are now showing up as on the ipod, and it only has 4gb of space left which shows em the songs are on there, but when i unplug it's showing as 0 songs on the actual ipod? I'm thinking that the files are on there but not recognisable. It's driving me mad! anyone know the solution to this?
