What's a good Beatles CD
Discussion
was talking about the beatles this week and a mate was surprised I didn't have a beatles disc in my collection.
I am a fan of the music and was going to buy a CD but couldn't decide what ones the best to get...the choice is quite extensive.
I like the song "in my life" but this is only on the rubber soul CD as far as i can see.
What is the must have Beatles CD.

It depends what you want really. If you just want a compliation, then there's the previously mentioned number 1's album, or better still the red and blue albums, which are both double albums and cover the early and later stuff respectively.
If you'd rather start building a collection of the original albums (which would be my recommendation, but I'm a fan), then Rubber Soul is my personal favorite, so is an excellent place to start. I'd also recommend Revolver and Abbey Road as very good albums. Both Amazon and Play have the original albums for less than a tenner at the moment.

Revolver is a perfect beatles lp
White album is my fave( its the first one i remember hearing - its actually one of my first memories from when I was about 3)
the stripped down version of let it be is certainly worth getting too
in fact any of them are worthwhile, for purity you might want to start at the beginning of the catalogue and work through them.

do you need the CD case and artwork?
If nlt how about listening to their back catalogue online, select a load of tracks to download and then burn to a CD.
just create a tailor made CD for you, where you love every trac,.
I didn't think ant Beatles stuff was available for (legal ?) download. If nlt how about listening to their back catalogue online, select a load of tracks to download and then burn to a CD.

Not that I want any as I've got as much as I want already on CD
If you want a load of hits/ no 1's then the 1 or the Red & Blue albums as has been said, if you want a whole work on an album Sgt Peppers or Revolver probably. The white album is a definitive album but not overly hit heavy.

Simple Answer...All of them.
Every CD offers something different, I bought my first Beatles 45rpm single in 1964 for 6s/4d and (imo) they were the finest group ever to grace the recording studio and stage.
My personal favourite is Sgt Peppers from 1967.....A Masterpiece.
