Recomend me some rock/metal
Discussion
Hello
I used to be really in music when I was a "yoof" but now I hardly buy anything. I'm getting bored of listening to the same old stuff in the car so I wonder if people could recomend me some new music?
Bands I like (or did when I was young)
Smashing Pumpkins
God Machine
Lost Prophets
Nirvana
Sound Garden
Pavement
Tool
Perfect Circle
Fugazi
I quite like singers that "sing" rather than the shouty screaming stuff, heavy guitars are fine by me though.
Thanks

Looking at the things in your list (and the fact it’s in my music collection ) you might want to consider…
Mudhoney
Stone Temple Pilots
Velvet Revolver
Machines of Loving Grace (eponymous album quite easy going)
Audioslave
Porcupine Tree
Rage Against the Machine (might be a bit shouty for you)

Have you checked out Chickenfoot? Ridiculous name but they are Sammy Hagar & Michael Anthony of Van Halen fame, Joe Satriani on guitar (he's a bit of alright) and Chad Smith from the Chilis on the Drums! Mark

Time for you to discover the roots of heavy music by going back to the late 60's and through the 70's and listen to Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Vanilla Fudge etc. oh and maybe a bit of Led Zep, Fields, Rhino, Bubble Puppy, Focus there are so many that fit your taste.I used to be really in music when I was a "yoof" but now I hardly buy anything. You'll get good musicianship with proper vocals often including quality harmonies.
