Every now and then a song comes along that, for whatever reason, fires me up...sends me off on one in a way!

Rusty Cage by Soundgarden is a classic example as is Duality by Slipknot!

So, what songs fire you up?

Breaking Benjamin - So Coldmusic

I can't play it in the car anymore or I'll start driving like an idiot.

Underworld - "Kiteless" rolleyes

Megadeth - "Hangar 18"

Pearl Jam - "Hail! Hail!"

Derek & The Dominoes - "Got To Get Better" (Live at The Fillmore)

I suppose the only thing that unites all the above - for me - is the relentlessness of each track. Just that feeling of barely contained energy.

"Kiteless" has a 16 minute relentless beat, but with ever evolving harmonies and loops which I will never ever tire of, and it will always be my ultimate driving choon. On "Hangar 18" Mustaine & Friedman exchange ever more frenetic solos over a punishing BPM. The other two, when I listen to them, project a feeling that the band just cannot stop playing as they are so "mad for it".

Quite a few choices above that do it for me too. Also:

Metallica - Damage, Inc.
Ozzy Osbourne - You can't kill rock n' roll
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't fear the reaper
Free Bird, when it piles into the upbeat guitar duet at the end.
Muse - Time is running out

Plenty of Metallica songs have that effect on me (too many to mention), so instead I'll throw in:

30/30-150 - Stone Sour
Slither - Velvet Revolver
Right Now - Korn
