My wife ordered tickets from VFestival.Org the day they went on sale - turns out it's a scam which has taken thousands of peoples money.

Yes she was dumb to go to an unofficial site but it was very well done - fully branded, top of the google sponsored links, looked very professional. We only found out yesterday while investigating why our tickets hadn't turned up yet.

Genuinely gutted as I was really looking forward to getting rid of the kids for the weekend, and re-living a bit of my youth. Worse is the fact that we have let down another 4 people who we had bought tickets for. weeping

Anyone else get scammed?

If you used a credit card you should be insured...

It should become their problem.

Yeah I'm sure that we will get the money back. Doesn't help me get to the festival though.

Gutted for you. It's a great event.

Isn't that a bit pointless as a scam? It's only a matter of time before you're in trouble. Foreign owner, I guess?

Hungarians apparently - they did the same last year under the guise of VFestival.net (didn't know this until yesterday though)
The site looked very professional - had all the sponsors logo's, line up's etc. Really pissed off about it as was going to be a cracking line up.

We are having Scamfest in the backgarden now, get rid of the kids, hang some speakers out of the windows and get wreckedup with the neighbours biggrin

Just had a thought... you handed over your CC details to scam artists? Apart from claiming back, cancel the card and order a new one. They'll be selling your details shortly.

Thanks Rog - although your forum name don't exactly fill me with confidence. biggrin
Appreciate the thought - but i need five - and for Weston Park. Cheers though mate. I'm kind of resigned to not going now - still by staying at home i'll save a bunch of cash I guess.

there's a similar scam for tickets for next year's t-in-the-park (aka Glasgow chav's day out), it looked very convincing.

There are plenty of tickets kicking around if you really want to go. I know five people selling theirs. All below face value too. Also check e-festivals forum.
