Spent yesterday afternoon and this morning knocking-together a new piece of trance on my MacBook Pro running Logic Pro 8. A draft mix of the track called "How Long is Forever?" can be heard here http://www.myspace.com/osmobi

The sound quality of my tracks on MySpace is, in my opinion, pretty poor. Some other artists' MySpace music sounds better so I guess I'm speccing the MP3s wrongly before I create them. If anyone knows the optimum settings for MP3s that are going onto MySpace please let me know!

I will have a listen tomorrow.

Also have a look at putting them up on soundcloud.

Mate, can you send me a copy of it please? I just got goosebumps... (And would it be OK to put in a set?).

There are a few things I would do slightly differently with it, but I'm really liking it.

Pads are nice in the breakdown and it does have a nice epic feel to your main melody in there.

In the outro around 6.20 there is a really fat synth bass mixed with what I think sounds like an arpeggiated pluck/rolling bass...sounds great.

Added you on Myspace smile

I like it. Keep up the good work.

Edit: Although I think I like Lucy in the Sky more.

Don, I'll send you a CD with it on as Audio or in your chosen file format. Just let me know what you prefer and where to send it and it's yours! And yes, please do put it in a set - I need all of the exposure I can get!!

The fat synth bass is coming from an Arturia Jupiter 8V. The whole track was done on my MacBook Pro notebook running Logic Pro 8 and uses a combination of the software synths that are included with Logic and also The Arturia Jupiter 8V, the Novation V-Station and Korg's Digital and Analogue Legacy collections.

Just listening to your stuff now - love the vocals. Would love to get into vocal stuff myself. My all time favourite vocal trance tracks are "The Last Time" by The Thrillseekers and "Breaking Ties" by Ocean Lab.

Cheers! "Lucy in the Sky" has been, to date, my favourite of all my tracks. Plenty more to come though!! Got loads of ideas, just a case of knuckling-down and getting on with it!!

I've been mildly obsessed of late by "In and Out of Love" by Armin Van Buuren feat. Sharon Den Adel

Specifically this extended mix - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kULjSw2t_i4

Very nice! Could so get into actual songs and, while keeping the electronic edge, move away from stuff that's strictly "dance".

Thanks smile The Last Time is definitely up there as one of my favourite vocal tracks too. I would say my top two would be Burned With Desire and Man On The Run.

But I really love what is happening in trance at the minute with more rockier elements being brought in! Made my journey from folk singer to trance warbler a lot easier too lol.

Nice

There seems to be a lot of influence from AVB and a touch of Airbase in there too

Good work and you're local smile

Can anyone tell me when and where State of Trance is transmitted? The ones I've heard so far have been from friends and I'd like to be able to get them directly. I assume it's an internet radio streamcast or something?
