OK not maybe Music isn't the best place for this but I'm not sure where is so....

I'm looking for a system to play an Ipod Touch though my car stereo. Its a Porsche PCM II but with no external Aux ports or card readers. So I reckon I need an Itrip like device playing the Ipod over the radio.

There are a good number of these type of things on the market so does anyone know which are the best ones or even if there are any good alternatives.

Thanks in advance,

Mikeyboy

That's the same as the one I use and I can't fault it. It uses the ipod for power, but I haven't noticed a real drop in longevity.

I've seen others that friends have, but they all seem to have wires and stuff that make everything much less neat simple.

Anything other than a hard connection from the bottom of the Ipod to the back of the head unit will eventually drive you insane with shyte repro.

Trust me.

Absolutely. You can get a type that hooks into the FM antenna at the back of the radio.

Nevertheless, good luck getting a stable frequency in the south east, unless you're prepared to attenuate or abandon the signal from the antenna.

This is why I'm hanging on to my BMW's Business Cassette, because I can use one of those widgets to connect the MP3 player via the tape deck.

I'm actually going to use the thing in central france, which in experience doesn't have so many frequencies being used. But thanks for the advice gents.

If you want a cheap FM mod option then the Monster Icarplay was the best I could find http://www.monstercable.com/productdisplay.asp?pin... up until the point I decided to do it properly with my Porsche PCM2 system and got a mobridge http://www.mobridge-ipod.co.uk/index.cfm?p=7322&am... . I installed mine myself but if you aren't tech savvy I'd discourage such action! Also need to be careful if your pork is under the new warranty scheme as apparently some of the dealers are making an issue out of after market IPOD interfaces.

Thanks for this again. May get an Itrip. I am on the new warranty so will avoid doing anything like installing a new bit of hardware.
