Inspiration to start learning guitar...
Discussion
So I'm starting to teach myself guitar, after thinking about it for years. Looking on youtube for instructional videos etc I started to watch some actual guitar playing, which has turned out to be really good for motivation to keep at it...
Some examples are;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G1jpQu6qR1E&fea... (from about 1:20 on)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWZAp02U7QY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLKxvjbWULQ&fea... Don't think I'll ever get this good, but my god its good to watch...
So, knowing that some of the PH massive are either learning, or are players themselves, have you seen any similar videos that keep you going?
Edited to make links work...

There's some good instuctionals of Little Wing on You Tube but it's tough to learn - there's some stuff where players like Tom Morello and John Frusciante talk about technique and show how to play some of their stuff.
Daft as it sounds I seem to play better after watching John Frusciante talk about two note inventions!
Cheers

Not inspiration as such, but when I first started learning I found the best thing was playing songs you actually like.
Get along to somewhere like http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ and download a whole heap of tabs. It doesn't matter if you can only play the intro or the chorus or something, playing one of your favourite songs is much more satisfying than scales or practise pieces.

Already been doing that... Got the intros to Day Tripper and Sweet Home Alabama going on (much to fiancee's amusement...), just got to get the rest of the song to follow!!Get along to somewhere like http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/ and download a whole heap of tabs. If found the videos in here a great help. A guy called PickNGrin did about 20 guitar lessons for beginners and posted them up on Ultimate Gutiar. You're best off watching them in date order rather than the order they are presented on the site.
This is the page with the list of lessons:

This is the page of the first video:

The other place I'd try is the About website. The very first bits of guitar I learnt were learnt from there.
The main thing is KEEP PRACTICING! You'll improve very quickly if you can find time to get some practice in every day.

can't get on youtube for specific links, but the 2 people who inspire me are:
mississippi fred mcdowell - quite a few vids on YT, but the acoustic one of him is fantastic
sister rosetta tharpe - search for her name and look for the blues & gospel train vid. the song is 'didn't it rain'. if a 50yr old woman can play that solo in the middle with such attitude than i'm damn sure i can learn.
