I tuned into Kiss fm the other day and caught a re-mix of Katy Perry's `Hot & Cold` with the backing music to Fragma's Toca. I done a bit of searching around but to no avail. Don't suppose any PH`ers know where I can grab a copy as `tis was rather good !

I can't think of any other good ones at the moment. There are loads of mash-ups around but usually terrible (see Youtube!). Every now and again one turns up that works well like this one. "Bruised Water" is the most popular one I can think of.

Les - mailed.

Veracocha (Carte Blanche) vs Billie Ray Martin (Your Loving Arms) was a great mash up

Paul van Dyk (For an Angel) vs Rachel McFarlene (Lover) - remixed by JPS project was a mash-up of the highest order.... was on my playlist at every dance music gig I ever did.

In a slightly different genre, I have a mash-up of Destiny's Child and Sister Sledge.

Backing track from "We are Family" and vocals from "Independant Woman"

Very, very good.

I have got loads of these from my DJ'ing years - some are very good, but the majority are bloody awful!

Oh God, that brings back memories. 1998 was it?,me 17 yrs old, well pleased at getting into a club, this tune got absolutely hammered every week when it first appeared. I remember there was this, and Camisra - Let Me Show You, everyone went mad for hehe

edit - looking on youtube now thinking about this. Sandy B vs Camisra - You Make the World Go Round was a good one as well.

Not sure if the original JPS version was ever officially released - I had it on white label in Spring 1998 (I think!) - and the original bootleg white label became very sought after. There were extra pressings made in 1999 and beyond, but the quality of the pressings were poor in comparison. (Mind you, as I had one of the original ones, I would say that!)

There have been several releases on remix CDs (Such as DMC and Music Factory) of the track, but none of them ever as good as the original JPS remix. (All IMHO of course!)

yes The first few copies of the white label that appeared became so sought after by DJs, that relatively big wads of cash were offered to trade!..... It was a guaranteed banker for any night in a club.

Agreed - it was a floorfiller, but I wasn't over-ly impressed by it..... And as for the mash up with Sandy B.....I much preferred (and still do) the original Sandy B track (Deep Dish remix)..... all nine and a half minutes of it!..... Which frighteningly is now 13 years old!

Re Camisra....that's why I put the laughing smiley, not a particularly good tune but evryone knew it and loved that bassline, a proper cheesy tune. I agree (and hope most would!) that the Sandy B original is better than the mashup. It's an all-time classic dance track isn't it? in my mind anyway. I've got it on "Ministry of Sound - The Annual 2" 1996 vintage, a few tracks from that album are thought of as classics now. I listen to a lot of 90's dance music.
