What is this Madstock?
Victoria Park. Madness, The Pogues and lots of other bands I've never heard of.http://www.madness.co.uk/gigs/gigs.html
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.
Yes, it rained a bit, but that did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of thousands of pissed-up skinheads.
Apart from popping to catch a bit of Hayseed Dixie (I heard their take of "Walk This Way" and "Ace Of Spades") I mainly stuck to the main stage.
Man Like Me - never heard of them before, but quietly impressed.
Jerry Dammers' The Spacial AKA Ensemble Reggae Showcase - perhaps not what you'd expect from Mr Dammers, but some quality, laid-back tuneage nonetheless.
The Blockheads - the clue's in the title. Fan-bloody-tastic.
The Pogues - again, does exactly what it says on the tin. In the "Worst Teeth On The Line-Up" competition, Shane MacGowan narrowly beat Jerry Dammers.
Madness - The only reason I went and I wasn't disappointed. A mix of the classic hits and stuff from their new album. The usual banter and mucking about from Suggs and the boys (I wonder if that bloke ever got his wallet back?). The whole set just went down a storm and had everyone bopping away. I will admit to even tapping my feet at one point.
Awesome.

Glad I drove though and even managed to find some free parking right next to the park.
Shane McGowan was hilarious, how is he still alive?
Gerry Dammers was as good as ever.
Madness were brilliant not sure about the new stuff but the oldies certainly got everyone going, don't believe it's been 30 years since they first hit the scene.
