Places to find musicians/band members

Hi,
Where's good to ply my wares? I just had a quick look on Myspace and it seems the UK classifieds no longer exist, or at least that it won't let me select anywhere outside of the US!
Anyway... any suggestions? I'm not looking for a job or a top flight semi-pro band, just a bunch of people to jam with locally, what sites are good for ads?
Chris

I am in the same boat ...have just stuck something up on joinmyband.co.uk .......trouble is everyone there seems to be between the ages of 16 and 24 ........no-one has any use for the 'more mature' rocker these days
I've stuck one up on there too. To be fair it was only this morning, so I should probably be patient. The thing is I just want to have a bit of fun and maybe do a few pub gigs I don't have 'extensive studio experience and toured Europe for the past three summers' or any of the bks you see on a lot of them. My ad sounds a bit appologetic in comparison, but I don't want people expecting the ghost of Hendrix, when all I've done is play in a couple of student bands at uni.
I'm looking at starting joining another band my current one is not so good any more. Bored of doing bad covers. To be honest as long as your good, age doesn't have any effect well not with me. My problem is everyone wants to do punk/indie or pop. The rock and metal scene has dried up I'd even join a jazz/funk band.
http://www.joinmyband.co.uk/ is a good place to start, know quite a few people who have found bands.
I also know of a few people who have joined a couple of signed bands using craigslist.

I ended up in my old band through an ad in Q Magazine.
"Guitarist wanted: Influences - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors and Cream"
Met up with the bass player and singer, talked rubbish for a couple of hours, didn't even pick up my guitar, got offered the gig. Within the next six months we got hold of a great drummer and drafted in a mate for keyboards. Did 6 gigs and got signed .
