Been feeling pretty down the last couple of days (still no bloody job) but then Bostons More than a Feeling came on Planet Rock combined with a Ice cold Corona and I felt much more cheery.

Rainbows Since You've Been Gone also has the same effect, of always cheering me-up.

What songs always put a smile on the face of PH'ers?

It's ace, there's even mention of a "turbo 'vette" in it.

And finally the genius that is;

If you have never tried this bunch give them a go. You can't really say this is a dance tune but as Gerald the Gorilla would say the production on all their albums are amazing. A lot of humour in their stuff too; this sounds like an early 1900 sample but its actually Enn Ritel (sp) the Radio 4 actor. One of their tracks is based on a supposed 1960s recording of a spacewalk where the astronaut describes an alien spacecraft.
Anyway this always puts a smile on my face because a) its incredibly silly. b) its sounds like everyone in the recording studio is having a really good time c) Its just a damn good tune.

Only drawback here is that the video is an edited version.

Enjoy!smile

"Sunscreen", Baz Luhrmann.

Not a fantastic song but some of the lyrics just always make me smile and cheer me up if I'm having a bad day smile

Tricky but

For sheer comedy value:
Bloodhound Gang: Bad touch - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fqncj3G6tg

For nostalgic cheesy disco:
Boney M: Rasputin - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TmjdZKfumEI

For those angry cheer-up's:
Nine Inch Nails - Heresey - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vr2ZjjuIQw
(They better play this when I go to see them in July at the O2!)
