You see, I was going to post something about this last week but then it would appear that I had more in common with an infamous bassist than a name...
I'm on the wrong side of 35 years old and artists such as Metallica, Judas Preist, Fleetwood Mac etc are on constant rotate in the Autochanger, but...
Last Saturday I accompanied my teenage daughter to a Nickelback concert in the SECC in Glasgow, and you know what - I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It reminded me of what a rock concert used to be about, the stadium was just full of people who sang every single word of every single song with a great big smile on their face. They played a couple of covers, Highway To Hell & Something from those Kings of Lions, and even they were pretty good. Not something many artists are willing to do these days and gave some of us "more mature" listeners something so sing along to!
I'd never heard of Black Stone Cherry before, but they were pretty good as well..
Now, where do I hand over all my hard earned PH points?

I was at the Glasgow one too. It was good but the SECC as a venue isn't the best in my opinion. I was at Blue Man Group next door in the Armadillo the night before and enjoyed that more but comparing the two isn't exactly fair. If you've seen BMG's "How to be a megastar" show then you will understand why people watching at the Nickelback was quite amusing
