Heaven & Hell (Black Sabbath) - New Album
Discussion
Oswaldo ceded any moral rights to Sabbaticism in the late 70s when H&H emerged triumphantly to describe a heavy rock sound of truly heroic dimensions.
Don't get me wrong, Ozzy is great - span Sabotage, Technical Ecstacy and Never Say Die on consecutive nights last week and they are criminally overlooked in that pantheon of Mk1 magnum opii - but I remember vividly the first time of exposure to well, this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhe1SuBGkiA - and my metal fate was finally sealed, despite the best efforts of the Young Bros with their mate Scott.

Well, it only got a 2K review from Kerrang (mind you, they have got Madina Lake on the cover, so you have to question their judgement). They used words such as underwhelming, torpid, ham-fisted & sluggish to describe it, with the following sentence as part of the summary: "it's as if they've tried too hard to create some idealised version of Sabbath and missed the mark badly, with songs that sound simply tired and slow as opposed to sinisterly grandiose". The only saving grace is "a riff here, a solo there - that do sound immense".
Personally, I'll reserve judgement until I've heard it, but I really hope it's better than the review suggests.
