Janes Addiction with NIN - Tour
Discussion

[quote=scumbagjag]Downloaded the NIN JA tour sampler, the two Jane's tracks are excellent. Also had a couple of Street Sweeper tracks on it (Tom Morello from Rage Against The Machine's new band) which I quite liked.

Downloaded the sampler on Friday, the new (re-recorded) Janes Addiction tracks are ace!
I have seen NIN 5 times but never seen Janes Addiction - cant' wait until July when I will be at the O2!

Was at the O2 last night and have to say that it was one of the best shows I've ever been to. Neither band had an album to promote so each played a best-of set filled with crowd pleasers.
Jane's Addiction somehow made the O2 area feel like a small venue and the show felt really intiamate. They sounded really good and I hope they stay around for a long time to come.
Nine Inch Nails were powerful as always and Trent Reznor looked like he's actually starting to enjoy the job of being a rock star. Gary Numan joined them towards the end to sing Metal and then they all played his hit Cars.

Where were you Dick? Standing or seated?
We were on the RHS of the standing area as you face the stage...quite far forward for JA then gave up and went near the back for NIN (the wife is short so couldn't see sh't up-front, and I'm off to Sonisphere in a fortnight so'll see NIN there too).
Agree on the review - both bands were really good, TR looking 'relaxed' was unusual, and GN's appearance was sublime...to be able to play on-stage with one of your idols must have made TR's day!!!
Favourite bit? The blend into Terrible Lie (probably my favourite track...either that or Down In It) as the lights dropped. Turned to Becs afterwards and said "OK, it's all downhill from here, we may as well go home..."

Standing. During JA we (my brother and I) got to within about 10-15 metres of the stage. For NIN we were probably close to you as we hung back for the most part.
I am gutted a little as I just read that they finished with Hurt. The last two shows I saw ended with Head like a Hole and when they finished that so many people were leaving we assumed it was the end.

My wife was feeling a little under teh weather (currently 5 months pregnent) so we got there as Janes Addiction finished so I am feeling very gutted
NIN were fantastic as always (about the 7th time I have seen them) and the highlight for me was "The Becoming" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKSInoRXHew
Oh well Sonnisphere in a couple of weeks...

I was at the O2 on Wed and have to say I was really dissapointed by Janes Addiction. After two or three songs it felt like an ego trip for Dave Navarro and his endless solo's.
Anyhoo... NIN were awesome!!! I was about three or four peeps from the front just to the left of centre (i.e. stage right, in front of the bassist) and had a great view. Really good atmosphere in the crowd, lots of jumping about, great tunes and right at the end, singing along to Hurt was really special!
Awesome gig, one of my all time must see bands.
