What's your favourite CD album that no one else will have heard about? The CD that you love but all your friends go, who? The CD that is really obscure but you would take to a desert island.

Mine would be; 24 Years Of Hunger - Eg & Alice.

Great album, bit navel gazing but the ideal soundtrack for a wet Sunday. I would be surprised if anyone else (except the music critic of The Sunday Times who has admitted he loves it) actually owns it.

Any other suggestions?

The album 'Fabrique' by Fashion. Electro pop's finest moment missed by just about everyone.

Two of my favourite albums are by an American artist called CC Adcock. Nobody's ever heard of him, there isn't much about him on the web and youtube only turns up 14 results.

He's from Louisiana and makes modern rock and roll, mixed with cajun and anything else he can throw in the mix. Great songs mixed with genius guitar playing.

Having only released 2 albums in the last 10 years you couldn't call him prolific but both House Rocker and Lafayette Marquis are superb records.

These are his only studio tracks on youtube.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3k-MTGIWgd4 (sound quality a bit poor)

Makes great driving music too.

The People Tree - Mother Earth

A funky English acid jazz band from late 80s/early 90s. They also have albums called,Stoned Woman, You have been watching,Riot on 103rd Street + a live one called, The Desired Effect.

Brilliant musicians

Seeing as you own every piece of recorded music ever creadted by human beings that's quite a recommendation. I'll go check it out now.

I think mine is Deconstruction. When Jane's Addiction fell apart the first time the guitarist (Dave Navarro) and the bassist (Eric Avery) locked themselves away to make this self-titled one-off piece of arty alternative rock that in parts is stunning. Listed to the song Iris on youtube for a taster: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVADCalHJpo&fea...

Crash Test Dummies "A Worm's Life".

Thats the one after the famous one with 'Mmm mmm mmm mmm' on.

Great songwriting and a refreshing change from songs about 'love', as there is never a single one. Quirky but really grows on you.

Not an unknown band but an album that is stunning from start to finish and rarely mentioned.

Dexy's Midnight Runners - Searching for the young soul rebel.

Possibly my all time favourite album.

Dave Navarro kick's a$$ (Jane's Addiction Nothing's Shocking has to be one of the all time greatest alt rock albums).

My secret album (although not really that secret) would have to be I am Kloot - I am Kloot, check out the link to see what there like.

THAT is a superb album. You know it's been re-issued on CD ? Titled "The Height Of Fashion", but it is effectively "Fabrique"

I'll think about the question and add something later.

Two CDs that get an occasional outing for me....

The Scary-Go-Round EP by Jellyfish

Fireworks by Pele (Saw them supporting Del Amitri many years ago, and was hooked!)

ETA: To Hypno-Toad - I have a copy of the Eg and Alice CD - I recieved it is a freebie from the promoter when I was working in commercial radio! (I did like the track "Indian" though!)

Band are called Spain, either 'The Blue Moods of' or 'She Haunts My Dreams' are classic albums.
