Got tickets for the Albert Hall and for Southampton in Dec.
Live he is unreal.
Saw him play in a basement club in Poole, where he had his first headline show years ago, and fulfilled a promise that he would play another gig at the venue when he made it big. Only a few hundred in the place and was spitting distance from the stage, Awsome is all i can say. The chap who does guitar lessons for me does a bit of work for the venue as he is also an electrician and went backstage a partied the night away with the band, he says Joe is a really down to earth guy with the most God given of talents.
To end, Go and see him, you wont be disappointed!!!

He's not fit to mix Yngwie Malmsteen's drinks.
He's also 9.
The Planet Rock show is a muso fest of introspective tedium not witnessed since 'Tap done their Jazz Odyssey in 1983.
I'm sorry but anything pertaining towards the art of hirsute, weighty rock which fails to acknowledge the role of vikings, battle and the role of the Dark Lord is merely coffee table cum CD rack fillage.
Just because you're the wrong side of 40 doesn't mean you should surrender to the false dogs of metallic mediocrity, right sports fans?

Sorry Der, but I must disagree with you.
Yngwye J Malmsteen is a pretentious, egotistical bore, the size of his ego has yet to be surpassed in the History of Rock Music. His shredding style of play is at best, boring, at worst, tedious in the extreme.
I saw his Pontificant at Rock City, and with the exception of about six guys immediately in front of him, the audience was as bored of him as Joe Lynn Turner was. If it hadn't been for the fact he was support, the place would have been empty. The ONLY bright spot in the entire set was about four seconds of "Eruption" by Van Halen, played note perfect, before he shot off back to some distant galaxy again.
While derivative, I'd say that Joe Bonamassa is the freshest breath of air in the Blues genre at the moment, with the possible exception of Sea Sick Steve.
You are, of course, welcome to your opinion.

Ditto, sorry Der.
Malmsteen is neo-classic ste, Bonamassa is a bit more bluesy. And at the moment he's doing a bloody good job of getting thirty-somethings like me back listening to that sort of music, which can only be a good thing.
If I saw you trying to get into any sort of gig I wouldn't just refuse you entry I'd have the ugliest doorman on duty introduce you to BA's chief chum Pain and then laugh in your general direction.Malmsteen is neo-classic ste, Bonamassa is a bit more bluesy. There's nothing worse than bourgois turtle neckers like you embracing the blues, or seeing great thrashers of yore like Gazhaldo Moore, jamming with BB-K - urgh, spare me, it's painful.
Blues might underpin the whole show but it's a bit like horses and Veyrons: just because something is the progenitor doesn't make it any bleedin' good or preferable to an evolution of the concept ito getting the job done to an uber level.
Next time I meet you I'll pin you down on the deck and pour some feckin' proper metal down yer neck, aalreet???

Its high time you listened to some of this contemporary stuff rather than bang on about some wizened old Swede knocking out Vivaldi on a Stratocaster, old chum
Get stuffed, you wannabe muso cant!
Allow me to learn you proper - http://hardrockheavymetal.files.wordpress.com/2006...
Fewer finer craftings of metal have ere there been; let's have none of this 4/10ths snoring jibber jabber.

Thats Sabbath though. You've just raised the bar significantly.
PS - and you couldn't even sit and watch your teams only recent glory, you chickenst!
Let's get this straight, Tony Iommi's Sabbath - the real power behind the blackened throne.PS - and you couldn't even sit and watch your teams only recent glory, you chickenst!
Re el Toffs, anyone who knows anything knows that watching yon team is a recipe for disaster so allowing fate to work it's magic and thence to review is a far more logical path to sporting glory.
