One of my OH's friends recently walked down the isle to Apocalyptica's cover of Nothing Else Matters. That was quite cool.

Whenever I see a wedding the same song comes into my head - "Another one bites the dust."

How about Madness - It must be love? We are seriously thinking of having this as one of ours next month! - Just debating about when to play it - as she walks down the aisle or as we both exit stage right after the 'book signing'!

We had this as our first song. A local band played and it was loved by all!

Me and Mrs TR are walking down the aisle to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JfAS6nwYc9g

and our first dance will be to this:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P4MiC67seUY

Also one to be in the first couple of dance songs will be: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_66FSnIUc3Q - Any scrubs fans might recognise it.

Just for a bit of inspiration smile

But I still think Mr Brightside by The Killers is a good 'un. As is Wherever You Will Go by The Calling smile

at a friend's wedding last year they had a guitarist and female singer [both pro's and friends of the bride/groom] performing the ordinary boys' 'i love you'. worked well.

i'd be slightly cheesier - 'chapel of love' by the dixie cups.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Apocalyptica. I am in the same dilemma as the OP, and these sound promising. Need to pick up a few of their CDs

I'm now thinking accoustic guitarist.. any thoughts, many songs can work & sound good on accoustic guitar if arranged properly, even down to sweet child o mine etc.

c'mon fellas, hit me..

We were rather traditional - Mrs Meeja walked down the ailse to "Arrival of the Queen of Sheba" by Handel, and we left the church to Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" Although the organist was not the talented chap that I knew and expected to be there (he was ill) Instead we ended up with a bloke who appeared to suffer from Fat Finger Syndrome.

As for a non-cheesy first dance, if I were getting married today, I would have Elbow's "One Day Like This" as my first dance.

Rodriguez and Gabriella do some nice acoustic/classical covers, plus original stuff too.
