Fancy recording a few tunes I've written over the years. Planning on using a laptop and was wondering what sort of program to use. Probably buy a line 6 pod thing to connect the guitar to the laptop. Don't want to spend loads but would go up to say £500 if needs be.

Thanks for any help.

I personally am a fan of Cubase (on a mac though). Its available for PC. Either that or give Cakewalk a go.

Or get a mac, and the world of Pro Tools/Logic opens up a whole new hole in your wallet.

Abelton Live! gives a different way of working with loopy segments and audio snippets, and does midi .

Get Computer Music magazine, they have loads of free software and demos on the Cover DVDs, and every now and then do a special about guitars and computers.
