new gibson hummingbird?

Are they worth the money? Ive wanted one ever since i started playing, in the summer i should be in a position to buy one.
My guitar tutor said to me only buy a gibsion if its an old one, however i popped into a guitar shop in brum the other day and played one, and i fell head over heels in love.
I didnt even know they were electro acoustic (bridge pickup) which just made it even better!
Has anyone on here got one? What are your thoughts about them?
The only others i have thought about, is a good stonebridge with an after market pickup, a takamine tan10c or taylor 210e?
