Guitar magazines, which one?
Discussion
Guitarist always seems to have plenty of lessons and playalong sections each month, and from a variety of styles too - which is always a bonus, regardless of your preferred style.
However, Guitar World does have song transcriptions, and regular lessons from some pretty famous guitar players. Less tutorial content, but flashier. Costs a fiver though...
In all honesty I'd rather spend the money on a book of sheet music!

Depends what you're into.
Guitar World and what used to be called GFTPM are great if you like heavier stuff although they do cover blues no and again.
GW is the best for full and accurate transcriptions IMHO.
Guitarist is my fave UK mag but not a patch on GW although the ads are far more relavent. It caters for a wider range of musical styles than the US mags. Since Guitarist and GW have been under the same ownership there have been too many copied articles although Guitarist tend to shorten them.
GW CD ROM far better than Guitarist.
Total guitar is a waste-US mags better and you can get better tab in the internet.
All IMHO of course.
Buy a few and you'll soon make up your mind,
