Was looking through the 'Youtube' thread on here and was directed to one that features a piece of music that I have been trying to identify for ages.

It's the first piece of music on this clip, and really kicks in at 28 secs. Don't worry about watching the entire clip, as it's not that good, but if anyone could identify that piece of music for me I'd be grateful.

Barber's Adagio For Strings.

Remixed, obviously. Video link to follow.

No, it's Clubbed to Death, which appears on the Matrix soundtrack.

(PS - If you're interested in the Adagio for Stings track, there were remixes by Tiesto and William Orbit. I think the Orbit one is best known. It's here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRqndwCqa5g )

Yep, you're right.

Just found it on the Amazon.com website, I knew it was from the Matrix so was searching for the soundtrack listing.

....still, Barber's Adagio for Strings is a good track, isn't it!?

was about to post, but by the time I refreshed the answers were already there!
What else has this been on? Recognise it from tv, but can't think what from - not the matrix

Masterchef uses it recently.

Probably could list hundreds of old ones, if I had a memory that is.

I used to call it Agnus Dei. As I did sing a lot in Choir at school.

It's probably worth adding that the youtube vid posted is the Ferry Corsten remix of the William Orbit version... nerd Corsten turned it into an amazing piece of main-room trance, but the original Orbit version is a lot more placid as far as I can remember - for me, it doesn't really add anything to Barber's original!!
