I've been improving the Dark Side of the Moon Wikipedia entry a fair bit (despite a bit of resistance), still a way to go yet, but I wondered if anyone here could do me a favour?

1) Do you have an old vinyl copy, with the poster and postcards intact, that you could take a picture of - to illustrate the design? Mine went years ago.
2) Do you have any photographs related to the release of the album - concert pics, Abbey Road Studios in 1973 or thereabouts, etc?

I appreciate it's a long shot but its an important musical article I want to see improved. If you have anything, write here or drop me an email.

Try this large link, there's a jpeg you could use showing all the inserts.
I'd ask the company nicely if you can use it.

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://stor...

There's a lot of pink floyd abbey road photos on images.google.com
Failing that you could pause a scene on the live at Pompei video and take a snapshot.

People don't tend to mind you using their stuff if you ask, it generally provides free advertising and promotes good spirit.
This will never happen if it is owned by a photographer, they will want money, and lots of it!

Wouldn't EMI sanction you a few pickies.
After all, I think they'd relish free advertising and the chance to squeeze a few more album sales.

Cool. Would you be able to take a photograph of that for me? Or it would be a little bit easier if you could create a Wikipedia account and upload it yourself. I can insert it into the article for you.

I'm pretty sure my Mum's copy has got everything intact. I'll have a look tomorrow if you haven't already got it sorted.

PoD if I may ask.. Wikipedia usually block me for either breaching NPOV, 3RR, or now that I am angry and uncooperative with them, mostly vandalism now. Why are you co-operating with those control freak wkers? Have you seen www.wikipediareview.com ?

I've never been blocked, or been in a revert war, or any of those things. It really is quite simple - if you argue your point based only on reliable and verifiable sources, you're unlikely to have any problems. 3RR is a fairly simple rule. Saying that, there is an element of the Pink Floyd wikiproject that objects to my changes to the DSOM article, but the article was in such a poor state to begin with I really think they have few grounds to complain, and I have a good track record of improving articles to GAC or FAC standard. I'm very confident that if anyone starts reverting my changes an admin would soon knock them on the head. You can see the argument I've had here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:The_Dark_Side_of...

Can you give me any links to articles you've had problems with?

I've got the copy now, it's got both posters but no postcards. If that's any good I can put some photos up for you.

Slightly O/T, but Sky arts are running a series looking into 'classic' albums starting next week, I think. One of the first up is DSOTM - If I can get a broadcast date I'll post it - anybody who reads the sky mag should be able to find the info.

Forgot to add, other albums include number of the beast, bat out of hell, hysteria, and more...

Quick question - why is the pic of the Putney labeled as showing the Cricklewood too when in fact it doesn't?

I suppose I could edit it, but that looks like a minefield re. that article...

That's what the source said it was (click the picture and follow the source). Is it not as described?
