Licensing dispute apparently:

Can easily be solved by using a proxy, haven't noticed any blocked videos yet however.

Finding one that actually works and is faster than 1k/s is still a hassleevil len said:
Would anonymous surfing sites (e.g. the-cloak.com) get round this ?
There's really no need, it's only blocking official video links. You can still get all the 'illegally' uploaded copies.
The PRS have just shot themselves in the foot really, it means they wont be able to look at their stats for viewing figures when concerning the UK.

Good on Google for having the stones to call the PRS's bluff.
Surely as the world evolves, then the PRS would be better placed to campaign / compel the music industry to pay song writers a flat fee rather than have it tied into airplay (is that still a word in this 'modern, hi-tech' world).
Maybe they could organise a 'strike' and have the word-smiths down pencils & laptops?

The PRS are fighting the corner of artists who don't see nearly enough of what should be owed to them. Google is fast becoming the new Microsoft in terms of it's position, dominance and throwing its weight around.

It's things like this that really make me hate the music industry.
Why? Do you want everybody to make music for free?Yes, but the PRS have a track record of 'not quite understanding the internet' and getting it wrong. Their licences (note, last time I looked at this was 18 months or so ago, so perhaps different now) simply don't cover online useage amply. I think they struggle to operate in an online environment, to be honest.

In the list of people queueing up to arse rape artists, Google are a LONG way behind the huge amount of people involved in recording production. You want to support bands, go and see live music.
Everything else is garnish.
