Saw them interviewed on BBC Breakfast and now watching a review of this film on Wossy.

What's going on with this? Is it for real? I've never heard of them. You just can't fail to draw parallels with Spinal Tap - even down to the footage at Stonehenge and (I believe) Rob Reiner being involved.

It's billed as the funniest documentary about a rock band ever made. Having watched Spinal Tap again last night I'll reserve judgement about that wink

Real story about a real band, heard the director or someone talking about it on R4 on Friday, they now serve burgers or something in the states.

I saw them live in '83 or '84, and I have to say they were bloody brilliant. I had some of their albums from that time too.

Brilliant band - and clearly there for the fun of it smile

For some reason I thought they were a Canadian band.

They are Canadians. Saw this on Friday. Its pretty entertaining in a 'Spinal tap for real' kind of a way. Basically its a feature length documentary (or, if you will, rockumentary) about Anvil today.

Just so I've got this right .....

They've released a 'rockumentary' about themselves?

What's it called? Is it in the cinemas? I'll certainly go see it smile

"Anvil : The Real Story" or something - with a bit of luck this film will be the making of them. I hope they get what they're due, they sound good and 10/10 commitment!

Saw the film yesterday. Absolutely brilliant. One of the best things I've seen at the cinema in ages. For the first 10 minutes, even though I'd read a bit about the film and knew it was a genuine documentary, I thought it had to be a pisstake. Funny and very touching.
