Hi,

I recently started down the murky path of soft-synths and DAW and although I have a few hard-synths (Roland X8, Novation SuperNova 2 PX, Roland SH101) I fancy having a box that'll give me full control over my software.

I'm running Logic 8 Pro (don't tell me I should've bought Reason, Cubase or Pro Tools as Logic was expensive enough and I've already signed up for a training course).

I'm drawn to either the Novation SL info or the M-Audio Axion Pro info

Both offer similar spec and cost a similar amount but as I'll unable to 'try before I buy' I was wondering if there are any users of these boxes who could offer their $0.02 on which one is better. From reading reviews I get the impression that the M-Audio feels nicer but the Novation has better integration but there's not a lot in them it's really down to personal preference.

Or is there an alternative product I should consider?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The Novation is supposedly very good. I nearly got one. But plumped for a Frontier AlphaTrack in the end. Small but amazingly versatile. Has an automated fader too which the cat loves! hehe
Im not a Logic user though. Im using the AlphaTrack with Reason mostly.

While im here.. If your computer has Bluetooth, get yourself a Wii controller (About £30) they are bloody great for controlling synths biggrin Pretty easy to set up too (it was on my Mac anyways)
