Brilliant band and very much enjoyed the orchestra, have decided to try and start each day with the lyrics "throw those curatins wide...one day a year like this will see me right"
Was a bit horrified when I realised it was radio 2.
I guess the orchestra makes it a bit more "crossover". It's been widely advertised on 6music too. Fantastic band. Was a bit horrified when I realised it was radio 2.

I know, 15 years before they got a break thanks to the Mercury prize. Only got the one album, other three worth the money as well then?
MBH, I can not beleive how long it took me to get your post Think that means it time for bed
Yup I started with The Seldom Seen Kid, then bought another off E Bay, which is the Cast of Thousands, bit different but still good!MBH, I can not beleive how long it took me to get your post Think that means it time for bed
The web site is doing the Red Buttonconcert on DVD & CD plus some other bits for £20, also two of the other CDs for another £7. SO guess where I'll be later!

I wake up singing "I've been working on a cocktail called Grounds for Divorce" then use the dressing table for the drums Was a bit horrified when I realised it was radio 2.
Some of the lyrics are great & spin around your head for hours!
Any knowledgable people out there know if you can buy this recording? I've scanned the BBC site but either it doesn't tell you or I'm just dum.
Really want this version, rather than simply the Album - although my finger is poised over the iTunes BUY button anyway.....
BTW Whoever is horrified that it is Radio 2 - don't be! They showcase some fantastic music. This,Fleet Foxes, Tom Baxter, and classic old stuff like Jeff Buckley, Nick Drake.

Elbow get their own thread
Been a massive fan for years after someone gave me Asleep in the back.
Glad they are finally getting well deserved recognition. I have to admit their live performance has come on in leaps and bounds since I last saw them
I really want to get to see them again but no-one I know likes them

For Elbow fans - do you listen to Guy Garvey on a Sunday night on BBC 6Music? Great show and he comes across as a really good bloke.
Re the latest album, my fav track is the one where he's talking about his mate who died - "luv ya mate" - really moving but uplifting at the same time.

+1 If you dont get a moist eye at that then you have a heart of stone !I love Elbow but the addition of the orchestra did nothing for me to be honest - would muh rather have listened to them play a live set with just the band.
