He's on tour at the moment, anyone else been to see him yet? I went purely on the basis of his Jools Holland bits which were undeniably awesome... Thought he was OK live, 7/10 maybe. I wanted to like it a lot more than I actualy did, if you know what I mean... something a bit more personal/intimate would have been better. Less of the longer longer more drawn out tunes and more of the hobo stories!!

Also, there was a fistfight in the crowd just infront of me, which was awesome thumbup

Although I heard of him a while ago, I've only recently listened to his music and seen interviews with him. He seems like a funny, genuinely nice guy who's sometimes difficult life has made him all the more appreciative of the success that's come his way.

Great sound considering he's only got three strings!

He was a guest on Dermot O'Drearys Radio 2 show a few weeks ago. Sounded like a genuine bloke with a very interesting background. IIRC, he was going to treat himself to a tractor when he hit the big time so that he could ride it around his farm whilst drinking a bottle of JD drink

Great tune (favourite Seasick Steve track) but sort of humbling too.

Edit: proper version linked

Not seen him live but bought his album a couple of weeks ago. Really like it, full of really good songs.

I bought his album and thought it was pretty samey. Another media jump-on-the-bandwagon jobbie if you ask me.

Ooo! there's a music section yikes

I think there is a certain ammount of bandwagon jumping going on - but at the same time he *is* a massively genuine and likeable guy. I allmost felt guilty for not enjoying the gig more!!

His act doesn't really fit with a studio album. Try watching an actual gig.

I'd agree with that, he's good, but not THAT good! The Jools Holland stuff I saw was OK, but he seems to be getting coverage like the stuff he does has never been heard before!

On the ball there.....He's a nice guy and his stuff is okay but I've heard (either live or recorded)hundreds of blues singers/bands and although his story is maybe heart warming its no different or worse than others.

heard of him a couple of years back when he did one song on the beeb, it wasn't jools holland though. been meaning to go see him since then and could have had a pair of tickets for the leeds gig last week. unfortunately i couldn't find anyone to go with and didn't fancy a 100mile rountrip to be a nobby nomates at a gig. in hindsight, i should've gone frown

Bit late to the party on this one......

Saw a few glimpses of him on the Beebs Glasto coverage, but then saw the whole Glasto performance on the other week on the red button.

Now bought Started out and really enjoying it.

Classic blues with a nice dirty guitar sound.
