albums you've forgotten about
Discussion
not really forgotten as such, but haven't played in ages.
my DIY soundtrack this week has seen a lot of albums from my teens, many of which i can't have played for at least 2-3years. what surpised me was that i was deliberatle picking albums i thought i wouldn't like anymore but found myself singing along and doing air guitar leaps on my way down the stairs!
top 3 were probably
sleeper: the it girl - a great piece of indie pop which reminded me i used to fancy louise wener
the bluetones: return to the last chance saloon - brilliant, if.. is just fantastic.
kula shaker:k
this is the one that surprised me the most. kula shaker had initial success then became a massive source of piss taking, what with crispian mills being a total arse and the indian kitsch wearing quickly. the album is 13yrs old now and i thought it would be very much of its time. its not, its a cracking album with probably 1 bad song on the tracklist. sounded very modern too, liked it a lot.
how about you?

Deliverance - Weapons of our Warfare
Death - Leprosy
Cant really think of many I've rediscovered - I am very selective and disciplined with my music, not one of these people who gets a new album, plays it every day for a week and then leaves it for five years. I'm not the only one am I?

Reading this has made me dig out my Bluetones albums, my favourite was 'Expecting to Fly' - I am instantly reminded of being a student and seeing them at the Barrowlands in Glasgow.the bluetones: return to the last chance saloon - brilliant, if.. is just fantastic.
Also, had 'The It Girl', loved it too!
