Beg to differ, old chap.
I doubt it's a patch on '11o'clock Tick Tock' or 'I Will Follow', though... biggrin

they were a loooong time ago though!

I'd settle for them releasing another Achtung Baby!

Funny that - that's exactly when I stopped buying U2 records. Most of the U2 fans I know/knew also stopped buying at that time.

I remember being 14 and going to see them at Derby Assembly rooms on War Tour and they were mind blowing, went on to see them quite a few times after that but that last time I saw them was at NEC on the Joshua Tree Tour and it was so impersonal it was untrue...

Bono gets on my wick nowadays as well but that's another story

DC

therein lies the problem

i can usually put up with annoying lead singer syndrome if the songs are good but Bono and Chris Martin both have the sort of face that you would never ever tire of punching smashpunch

I actually thought they lost their spark with 'War' it was patchy at best. 'Boy'....every one a winner!!

I stopped buying U2 records at The Joshua Tree - to date I don't know why the press universally hailed an albbum that sounded like 'Irish band does a blues', 'Irish band does a country song' et cetera. I don't tend to walk around in cowboy boots with spurs in the Netherlands, either...

Someone lent me the record back when it came out but I didn't even care to tape it...
