Bit of a fan myself, havnt heard them do a bad tune since Hotel Yorba.

Think they make a very good noise, kind of modern take on delta blues ish......

Really like Jack Whites attitude to the earlier and original blues.

So, love them or hate them ?

Dont think there's a middle ground here.

Seven Nations Army is often accompanied by some rather "spirited" driving! whistle

They have moments of genuis such as Icky Thump and Seven Nation Army, that Doorbell song is VERY annoying however and Meg can't drum for toffee!

I got into them when they broke through in 2001, saw them live and it blew me away. Jack is very-very talented, like Jimi Hendrix or something. Played them to death for a year or so (the John Peel session is a classic) then got a bit to familiar/bored of them. Still like the earlier stuff (like nearly all artists). Always get the feeling he/they might do something amazing/shocking again one day.

I like them - although my wife likes them too and that is always unsettling.

Well Meg can't play drums, and Jack won't win any awards for subtlety, but wow can they fill a stadium with sound! They seem to make more musical noise than any band with 4 times the number of people in. Always superb at Glastonbury, Jack was there last year with The Raconteurs.

I'm not sure about Jack being Hendrix, but the above quote is about right. Jack does a great job of moving the crowd with the sound he does make. Personally, I like that they're prolific and experimental. They'll usually have one or two great songs among less successful, but interesting songs, and then a couple of really bad ones.

Don't care much for Icky thump. I like Effect and Cause. Seven Nation is a classic. Favorite is Blue Orchid.
