Just surfin' in on a wave of nostalgia....

Anyone ever take themselves along to one of the Caroline Roadshows that used to take place in stty little halls in East Anglia and the home counties in the late '70s???

My friends and I used to go along and indulge in mindless headbanging etc with like-minded folk, most of whom seemed to treat it as an almost forbidden alternative to the nasty 'Saturday Night Fever' style discos favoured by those guys at school who judged their position on the social ladder by the number of buttons on their waistband.
We used to plead with parents to take us to the Institute in Braintree, where DJs who had never set foot on the Mi Amigo would whip the crowd up with some established favourites:
Paranoid,
All Right Now,
Radar Love,
Rock'n'Roll,
Down Down,
etc

with the addition of some newer stuff:
Rock'n'Roll Damnation,
Running With The Devil,
Wheels of Steel,
and the like and even some punk!!!

The DJs would also endeavour to get the prettiest girls on stage to dance with them at closer quarters than their Mums and Dads would have liked.....
My older brother even used to dress in the full Angus Young, satchel and all!!!
