ETA... just to give you an example, I worte a piece about 10 years ago with the Hi Hat in 5/4 and the rest of the kit in common time. I suggested that Neal do two passes. The complete b@stard did it in one pass, sight reading - in one take. What a git. I'll try and dig it out if anyone is remotely interested.
