Chant / Crusade Music?

Folks,

Ambient styles of music is something I really enjoy, but I'm having an incredibly difficult time getting hold of any form of monk chanting or crusade style music; preferably long and sombre pieces, rather than dramatic 1 minute clips from movie soundtracks.

I got some Gregorian Monk stuff once expecting it to be what I was looking for only to find it was basically a choir singing "Poison" and "Join Me In Death" amongst other top songs...

I have some Gregorian Monk stuff around... not sure if its the same as what you have described.

Try relevant recordings from The Sixteen and The Hilliard Ensemble.

They're not monks, but very good nonetheless.
