Drum kit valuation?
Discussion
I have just been asked (for obtaining a home insurance quote) for the value of my drum kit. I simply guessed a figure. But this did get me thinking about how much it may actually be worth.
Where would I be able to obtain a realistic valuation? as opposed to what a dealer may offer me prior to adding his mark up.
If anyone is able to offer any suggestions they would be greatly appreciated.

Most insurance companies state new for old on most policies now, I know all my music gear is valued at new (or equivalent) replacement price.Where would I be able to obtain a realistic valuation? as opposed to what a dealer may offer me prior to adding his mark up.

The kit in question is a Ludwig `Big Beat' 5 piece bought new in 1980 and in excellent condition. In comparison to modern kits I suspect it will be quite an antique. Hence my curiosity regarding its value (is it directly comparable even to a modern Ludwig kit?).
I guess it's worth what they sell for nowadays... Or the equivalent..http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/shop/flypage/product...
