Decent Jazz Bars

No swanky Jazz clubs in London I'm afraid. Ronnies and the 6 are both dives.
(But are, at least proper jazz clubs!)
(ETA we put a 'dead' plastic canary in a cage in the band room - just to get Ronnie to do something about the smell - unfortunately it killed him first. RIP).

Besides, what is it that you actually want ? Something dark and smelly with a bunch of old (probably black) fellas singing on stage? Or do you want something a bit like a modern "wine bar" with some jazz musicians playing up-tempo music ?

Ronnie's has recently been done out, don't know if that's a good thing.
Haven't been since the refit.
I haven't been since the refit either. Before, it was pretty cramped unless you were lucky/early enough to get a good table down the front, and the tiny bar was tucked up the corner.Haven't been since the refit.
My best mate however has been recently and liked it. The bar has moved, it isn't as cramped in layout, and the decor is much nicer than the smoke stained, yellowed 60s paintwork that it had before.
But the atmosphere is still good, which is the main thing in my eyes.
