OK we all love going on about our favourite artists. I need something new exciting and refreshing but I dont know where to look. I like different styles of music and am open minded - but I am looking for something along the lines of either of the following 2:

More blues! I cant get enough of it but cant seem to find anything that hits the spot besides Stevie Ray Vaughan. Dont like Hendrix, Clapton doesnt really do it for me and Muddy Waters etc are a bit too old for me.

The other area I am looking for something is altogether different. Dance/DnB/Acid Jazz types. Been listening to a lot of Pendulum, LTJ Bukem, Hed Kandi, Jamiroquai, Hospital Records, Sambass, but again its getting stale - can anyone help me out??

Any suggestions gratefully received and investigated! Cheers Chris.

Just had a thought,

I know I've searched on u-tube before, and found nothing of interest, but trawl Amazon etc for an album called "OK, Ken" by the outfit Chicken Shack.

The guy who set it all up, Stan Webb, was - at the time - the equal of Peter Green in terms of his grasp of electric blues guitar, and had Christine Perfect on keyboard and John McVie on bass (so basically the genesis of Fleetwood Mac).

It's very raw, but really very good.

Try it (just for the Steptoe & Son intros if nothing else.......)

Not a new record by any means but New Fast Automatic Daffodils did a CD called Pigeonhole that was really cool. I also have a soft spot for Stakka Bo's Supermarket CD as well.

Could be worth a listen...

Cheers

If you're into Stevie Ray Vaughan, try Kenny Wayne Shepherd - some call him a Stevie Ray imitator but he's a fantastic guitar player nonetheless.

Or try Johnny Lang, or Joe Bonamassa.

Or to keep the texas blues feel, 70's ZZ Top music
