In case you've missed it, AC/DC have a new album out called 'Black Ice' - their first since 2001.
They are due to start touring in North America very soon. Lets hope a visit to the UK happens in 2009.

On another note, check out a band called Airbourne ( http://www.airbournerock.com/index.php?page=Index). Another bunch of Aussie rockers in the AC/DC mould. Very very good me thinks.

Ah Kinky...so you never got to see them? They have a round of UK gigs in November. I think I'll pop along to see them.

I know I'm an AC/DC snob, it's just the way I feel, but I would point out that Airbourne are very much in the Bon Scott AC/DC / Rose Tattoo mould in my opinion. Aussie Rock, not Global Rock/Metal.

I'd tend to agree, though that's not necessarily a bad thing. I'm looking forward to seeing Airbourne on 27/11 at the Astoria.

I'm not looking forward to the blind panic that will set in when AC/DC tickets go on sale and we're faced with the inevitable Ticketmaster website meltdown (you know the routine: continually hitting the refresh button, eventually getting through, then an error message appears just as you get to the final stage of ordering, and finally getting stung with a ludicrous "convenience" charge). Still, it'll all be worth it to see Angus again.

Regular readers of my 'anti- Brian Johnson' bullst will know that I don't think it's a bad thing either. smile

No - as you can imagine I was pretty pee'd off.

I know about the November gigs - but won't be able to confirm if I can go or not until nearer the time frown

I probably shouldn't be posting this, as I'm potentially just increasing the number of people competing for MY tickets, but as we're all PHers I thought I'd do the decent thing.

If you want to increase your chances of getting tickets, join the AC/DC fan club. It costs $40 and will enable you to get Fan Club pre-sale tickets, which are usually released a day or two before general sale. Also, if you don't buy any tickets (e.g. if they sell out too quickly), you can get your $40 refunded (if you leave the fan club within within 90 days of joining).

Fan club tickets for O2 London go on sale on Friday 17th Oct.

Got two standing tickets for Dublin. Am slightly disappointed as I was looking for seated so I could bring my old man. Don't think standing would be his cup of tea.

I must add thanks to the poster suggesting joining the fan club. I don't know if it actually helped, but I did get the tickets I wanted. My Passcode for the fanclub tickets showed on their website at about 30 seconds to 10am!!

I had 2 phones on redial direct to the MEN and the lines went down immediately. The ticketmaster website seemed to cope OK apart from some bother with my credit card. Once I'd reserved the tickets, the website said I'd put in my details wrongly when I hadn't. I actually pressed the back button on my browser and to my horror it went to a webpage expired notice!! Somehow managed to get back to the right page and with about 30 seconds left on the reserve time I switched to another card and got the tickets.
