Pink Floyd / David Gilmour
Discussion
Floyd grow on you and live with you forever amazing tunes one of my fav bands,my mate is the same with the gilmour/waters thing.I enjoy most stuff from animals to darkside of the moon and.Went to the hyde park concert few years ago rodger waters headlined one night then the who the next evening superb stuff.
I'll be sure to pick this one up... I'm a great fan.
To be honest i think Roger Waters is an absolutely amazing songwriter and lyricist.. His Solo albums are equally epic in the theme/lyrics department..
Dark Side of the Moon, The Wall, Amused to Death (Solo) have great depth..
I think the conceptual element of the band went with Waters.
However, it does seem Waters became a bit of a meglomaniac and extremely difficult to be in Pink Floyd with and i love post-Waters albums in a more direct way..
I can't think how many plays Delicate Sound of Thunder and Momentary Lapse of Reason have had since being a teenager in the 80's.
The Division Bell is quite an absorbing album.. Remember listening to it in the car and i got to wherever i was going with absolutely no memory of the journey!!!
My only gripe is that i wished they released more studio albums after Waters left.

Gdansk gig is repeated tonight on BBC4 at midnight .

Musicians don't often acknowledge film cameras when on stage, so it was a
poignant moment when Rick looked directly into the camera during 'On An Island'
and smiled.
