Currently repeatedly listening to "The Day That Never Comes" from the new album.

Also listened to "My Apocalypse" but didn't really like it.

Still looking forward to the new album though, just hope it's better than Saint Anger, I only liked one song off it in the end >.< (Shoot Me Again).

'The Day That Never Comes' is really growing on me, I reckon Death Magnetic will be pretty good. I do like like it as an album title as well.

The Unnamed Feeling is the only song I can listen to on Saint Anger - hopefully there will be a couple more decent songs on the new one.

I'm liking the sound so far. Sounds more like the real Metallica. Guitar harmonies and Kirk solo's. Am also repeatedly listening to the day that never comes. Could well be the welcome return to form for them.

Album leak welcomed by Metallica

The drummer of rock band Metallica has welcomed an internet leak of their new album, ahead of its release next week.

Speaking on San Francisco radio station Live 105, Lars Ulrich said: "If this thing leaks all over the world today or tomorrow, happy days."

"It's 2008 and it's part of how it is these days," the musician added.

Death Magnetic, officially released around the world on 12 September, was posted on the internet after reportedly being sold in a French shop.

its all on youtube by the user "bloodsugarsexmaniac"

all nightmare long
this is a pretty cool track, much like "puppets" era stuff, just good honest simple thrash stuff
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Skpa_Rm4coo&fea...

bad points "unforgiven3" f**k off with the radio friendly unit shifters, if they release this as a single they remain the corporate sell out f**ks they became with load, reload and the orchestral toss
same for "the day that never comes", they release that an i will shove each and every copy up their backsides, they just dont seem to sit well on an album which has stuff like "broken, beat and scarred" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzJ71782zbM&fea... which i like a lot. whilst you coould argue the balck album was quite mixed, that was 1991 and times have moved on. My Apocolypse could be off "kill" or "lightning", its pretty good old school stuff

lyrically the whole album isnt that great from the sound of it...

I think The Day That Never Comes will be the first single released from the album since Kerrang and Scuzz were showing the video to it every hour or so the other day.

There's an Unforgiven 3?? *Goes to spend the rest of the night on Youtube*

sadly unforgiven 3 is nothing like unforgiven 1 and 2 which are easily in the top 15 metallica songs for me.

no you are right. they are a metal band and yet people prefer stuff like "nothing else matters" over "battery" "puppets" or "harvester of sorrow" there are far more bands who do the slow whimsical stuff better than metallica... but not who do old school thrash quite like that!...*goes off to find creeping death on the mp3 player*

Am just listening to a promo copy now, only up to Cyanide so far but am really enjoying it. It sounds so much better than St Anger, not only are the songs better, but you can tell just from listening to it they seem to be enjoying playing together. St. Anger just sounded pissed off to me, with no melodies or anything to take any pleasure from.

But surely the question is not 'is it better than St Anger?' as this is quite an easy task to achieve; but 'is it better/on a par with their earlier albums?' From what i have heard, i fear not.
