I was at a gig this evening and before it started they played some songs which I presume were off of a mixed CD or something but they were of a similar type - i.e whitesnake, bon jovi etc

They played this oen song that started straight off with a guitar into that was more liek a solo than an intro riff - it then went into a bloke isnging

sounded 80's or early 90's maybe - it was fairly fast paced

the only sentence i remember from the first section was something like ' i remember my home town'

google search brigns up nothing that is correct

any clues?

Thats not including the fact he used to put on 3 hours epic rock shows and even now is still putting on great stadium shows with the E Street Band

It was a Dire Straits tribute band, only a small gig.

Dire Straits were a british band big in the 80's.
