i heard Psychosocial on YT just recently, muscially its not a bad track coming from them, not just a heavily distorted noise fest for a change, still can't understand a word Corey Taylor is bellowing except for the chorus tho'!
i've never been a big fan of the 'Knot TBH, i'm going to play it safe and get Death Magnetic and Motorizer instead methinks!

Got it a few days ago and the Pyschosocial track it by far the best.
There are a few tracks which are ok but about 50% which i won't listen to again.

Seems to be the norm for Slipknot, 50% or less decent but the rest is dross.

just listening to it again now so might change my opion later

The double bass drumming on "this cold black" track is amazing.

No wonder they could not get a replacement drummer for Reading / Leeds this weekend.

What happened to Joey Jordison? He did guitars for Murderdolls too didn't he?

Haven't kept up with music since I left school frown

broke his ankle.

quite dissapointing.

However the cheeky buggers did then get a small plane flying over leeds while Avenged Sevenfold were on with a big banner advertising their latest tour - sevenfold were not happy.

yeah and all they'd got was the "flu" they were pretty good on the sturday tho - pulled some poor girl out of the crowd to sing along with them. She shat herself and burst into tears.

Not bad, but I preffered Iowa and Subliminal Verses. You can;t beat The Heretic Anthem when you're angry haha.

It's a real 50/50 album. Some great, some crap.

Sulfur and Dead Memories are my two favs so far.

Whole album is very Stone Sour esq... doesn't have the wow factor of previous slipknot albums. Heck, a lot of non-metal fans love Wait and Bleed!

Listened to this a couple of times, Dead Memories, Sulfur and Ghenna are the stand out tracks for me! I prefer the Subliminal Verses and to be honest I much prefer Stonesour's Come What(ever) May!

This is the first album I have heard from them, what earlier album would you recommend I get as some of you are saying its not as good as earlier stuff?

i got over my initial skepticism about the new 'Knot album when i went out and bought a copy earlier, been laying it all afternoon/early evening and TBH, not a bad effort at all IMO, quite experimental compared to some of the earlier stuff!
going to need a few more listens to pick out stand out tracks tho'

I have to say it hasn't grown on me that much and I can't help but feel it's a let down. It has some good songs (psychosocial, snuff and dead memories easily the best) but a lot of filler as well. Production is lifeless and the songs don't have that much depth. Maybe it will grow but at the moment I'd give it 6/10
