Just put one of the old ones on; they all sound the same anyway.
I've never understood why people think this. For the record, I've never understood what you mean by this.....

Yes, they are but I don't know too much about it.

Try listening to 'Emergency on Planet Earth' or 'The Return of the Space Cowboy' and comparing them to the later stuff - there is a huge difference in sound.
I would have thought the second comment of mine you have quoted is pretty straight forward.

Does anybody know if Jamiroquai are making a new album? I heard a rumour a few months ago, but I have heard nothing since.
Here you go!http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Addicted_%28Jamiroqua...

surely the majority of bands have their own definitive style and sound? Having a lead singer with a very distinctive voice also means theyre instantly recognizable IMO. Ive all their albums too and i still think they have a very original, fresh sound compared to the likes of snore patrol, radiohead, coldplay etc. Plus the fact theyre all talented musicians , brilliant live, and still lasting the distance from early 90s, i think theyre very under-rated in Britain

I wouldn't agree that all bands have their own sound but you are right in what you are saying. Jamiroquai have a very distinctive sound which can easily be identified with them. You're bang on with the comment about them being talented musicians and they must be seen live to fully appreciate this.
The problem some people have with Jamiriquai is that there sound hasn't really evolved (they were pretty retro to begin with).
They have a profitable formula and stick with it. It's debatable if that's a bad thing, if a band changes to much it can alienate it's fans, on the other hand it can lead to interesting new music (e.g. Primal Scream and Screamadelica).

Music's all a matter of opinion. Personally, I love Jamiroquai and don't think they're at all samey. We should be applauding a band that's made up of excellent musicians making proper music with a cariety of instruments, not just guitars, bass and drums; and isn't bending to what's popular or trendy at any given time.
Whilst I'm here, can anyone recommend any other bands that sound like early Jamiroquai?

Also try looking at stuff on Talkin' Loud which is/was Giles Peterson's label. I'd start with things like:
4 Hero
Cleveland Watkiss
Courtney Pine
Femi Kuti
Galliano
Incognito
The K-Creative
MJ Cole
Nuyorican Soul
Omar
The Roots
Tamba Trio
Terry Callier
United Future Organization
Young Disciples
If you go to far and get into Jazznova, you have gone up your arse.
Another good label is Dorado with artists like:
Jhelisa
D*Note
Sunship
You might want to listen to funk and soul from the likes of Stevie Wonder (J certainly has).

None of that really reminded me of Jamiroquai I'm afraid. It was more soul than funk. I did enjoy it though Any funkier recommendations? I love the bubbling basslines and wah guitar! 4 Hero
