Clapton - Hyde Park
Discussion
The guitarist mentioned in the line-up is Doyle Bramhall II & the drummer is Abe Laboriel Jr. I don't know how close you were but you may have noticed that Doyle plays a conventionally strung right-handed guitar left-handed!! He's played with Roger Waters in the past and appears on the 'In The Flesh' DVD which has a magnificent version of Comfortably Numb on it.
Hopefully this was filmed for DVD release.

Did anyone see the opening act?
Any good?

I heard them from my "office" position under the stage and they were ok to pretty good. I can't really fault any of the support acts this year.Any good?

The Clapton drummer has also been McCartney's drummer for several years and is nutty as a box of frogs but an excellent tub thumper to boot. Clapton was good but didn't play many of his finest. No Sunshine, no badge, no tears from heaven etc.
It is being recorded for Hard Rock, so if it will make it to DVD I don't know.
Saw the Leeds concert last night, as said above Clapton didn't do as many 'favourites' as perhaps he might but it was a good night, with some good, gutsy playing from him, Doyle Bramhall and, of course Chris Stainton - who is always excellent.
That Robert Randolph can play that Pedal steel guitar though . The Encore with RR on stage with Clapton & band was brilliant, can't help thinking that RR looks like Lenny Henry when he smiles and I thought EC's drummer was going to have a heart attack a couple of times looking at his expression.

Yep he does, and very well too.I'm left handed but also learned on a righty guitar and never changed - as you can see from my left handed guitars strung the wrong way round below
