You Could Be Mine

always stood out for me, Paradise City is another great GnR choon too IMO

Slash's Autobiog is well worth a read for all the dirt on the GnR rollercoaster!

They didn't write it, but the cover they did of Live and Let Die is absolutely fantastic; its rare for a cover to surpass the original, but they did it.

Still 'Welcome to the Jungle' for me. First GnR track I heard, when that first album appeared. What a day that was for us teenage rock fans. I remember heading down to the (independent and long gone) record shop in Chester city centre, to lay my hard-earned pound notes on the counter for a lovely bit of vinyl. Good times....

Can't choose between November Rain (TWO solo's!) and Paradise City.

Paradise City or Welcome to the Jungle.

Going to go against the love-in on this, but I haven't really got time for the overly self indulgent Use your Illusion albums... all over produced and they lost the magic for me. That said, it's still leagues ahead of the dross currently in the charts...

Their cover of Sympathy for the Devil is pretty good IMO.

Edited as I'm stoopid and screwed up the formatting.

1. Paradise City http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=OsrDv3K7RNI
2. Mr Brownstone http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=RXQfhjSVdX8
3. 14 years http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Tc4gmz4aEdc
4. one in a million http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=rLQ-m_jfn3A
5. yesterdays http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=EziI1ewSScM

I loved sweet child and welcome to the jungle but ive just played them out over the years although never get tired of listening to paradise city. The opening riff still sends a shiver down my spine and all the live versions are excellent too. In my all time top 5 songs

I love GnR! Clichéd but my favourites would be Estranged and November Rain. I have been trying to find that church in the NR video. Somewhere in New Mexico I believe, but I would love to get married there.

Most the greats already mentioned take some beating. The best band of the '80s but Axel Rose is a weapons grade cock, he sums it up better than I can in this vid though; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2HuEwWtApk&amp...

"You think you're a bigger asshole than me, you've got something to learn" Axel Rose.

14 years and yesterdays are really good songs. they were well produced, and didn't have that rawness that AFD had.

November Rain is just a bit too cheesy to be on my faves list.....
Agreed.

odd that no-one has sighted Patience yet. has to be one of top 5 acoustic ballads ever (more than words, to be with you - also included)
Rock band, ballad … nono

Appetite....Still the best debut album ever by any band. EVER.
scratchchin Pearl Jam’s Ten and Oasis Definitely Maybe are certainly up there IMO…
